Summary 27th round: Plzeň beat Sparta in race for the title

The match was refereed by David Fernández from Spain.  Jan Holenda opened the scoring in 52nd minute, with Hubník adding their second in 69th minute.  The result mirrors Sparta’s loss to their rivals in the autumn part of the season.  Should Viktoria beat Jihlava this weekend, they will celebrate their third title in their history.

Jablonec put pressure on Sparta as they emerged 2:0 victors in their match against Liberec to close the gap on their rivals to three points.  The match was decided early in the second-half with goals in quick succession from Jan Kopic and Martin Pospíšil.  The result ended Liberec’s run of five matches without defeat, and leaves them five points clear of the relegation zone.

The two teams at the bottom of the table, Hradec Králové and České Budějovice, notched up surprise victories.  Hradec beat Ostrava 1:0 thanks to a goal from Daniel Trubač while Budějovice defeated Dukla with the only goal of the game coming from Jírí Funda

Příbram moved into fifth place in the league after they beat Slavia 2:1 to remain in contention for a place in European competition next season.  The result means that Slavia are still not certain to remain in the SYNOT liga next season.,

Teplice emerged 1:0 winners in their match with Jihlava with Jakub Hora finding the back of the net.  The result ends Teplice’s run of four matches without a victory and takes them to sixth in the league.  Jihlava have lost their last two matches in a row and currently lie ninth in the table..

Slovácko drew 1:1 with Brno while Bohemians held Mladá Boleslav to a 1:1 draw.
