Jablonec Galacticos: Jablonec bring in reinforcements
After an unsuccessful season, Miroslav Pelta promised to strengthen the Baumit squad and he has kept his word. Firstly, he has brought in charismatic coach Jaroslav Šilhavý as well as an avalanche of new players.
Vlastimil Hrubý (goalkeeper, 1. SC Znojmo FK, 29 years old)
Pelta was expected to try and draft in one of
the two Liberec goalkeepers - Přemysl Kovář or
Lukáš Hroššo, but instead focused on Vlastimil Hrubý from Znojmo. ‘’Jablonec
expressed their interest in me coming to the club and the attraction was
obvious. I would like to be the number
one choice and I realise that will be up to me,’’ Hrubý said after signing a three-year
contract. The path to the number one
spot will be made easier as Roman Valeš is injured and Michal Špit is coming to
the end of his career.
Milan Mišůn (defender, 1. FK Příbram, 24 years old)
The defence will be
strengthened with the arrival of ex-Příbram player Milan Mišůn to the club. Pelta has been interested in the young
defender for a long time, only now reaching an agreement. He has also signed a three-year contract
with the club and will be useful as a left-back or in central defence. ‘’The transfer marks another step in my
carreer and although Příbram finished just above Jablonec
last season, I believe the club has the ambition to do better,’’ he said after the transfer.
Luděk Pernica (defender, FC Zbrojovka Brno, 23 years old)
Luděk Pernica should
come into the squad as centre-back along with Vít Beneš and Milan Mišůn. ‘’I looked at their performance in the National Cup and it is
obvious that Jablonec are a team that are prepared to fight. Another deciding factor was the presence of
coach Jaroslav Šilhavý,‘‘ said Pernica.
José Antonio Romera (defender, FK Dukla Praha, 26 years old)
The first confirmed transfer was Spanish
defender José Antonio Romero, who
will play on the right side of the defence.
Vojtěch Kubista’s form was disappointing last season and so affected the
Spaniard’s performance. The club
believes that he will be a valuable asset and have also offered him a
three-year contract.
Martin Pospíšil (midfielder, SK Sigma Olomouc, 23 years old)
Jablonec’s midfield
will be strengthened by the signing of two key players, Pospíšil and Hübschman. Pospíšil will occupy the position in central
defence and along with Jan Kopic should prove to be a force to be reckoned
with. ‘’I have been given a great
chance with Jablonec and the arrival of Tomáš Hübschman will also be a valuable
addition to the side,’’ said Pospíšil.
Tomáš Hübschman (midfielder, FK Šachtar Doněck, 32 years old)
Fans have been eagerly
anticipating the arrival of Tomáš Hübschman, who should come to be the new
leader of the team. ‘’We are relying on
Tomáš to lead the team. True we do not
have players like Kováč at Liberec or Latka at Slavia, but I hope that Tomáš
can live up to the role,’’ said Pelta after signing the famous midfielder.
