SUMMARY: Wins for Plzeň and Sparta
The situation at the top of the table remains the same after 18th round of the league, with Plzeň still three points ahead of Sparta. Baník recorded only their second win of the season.
Plzeň defeated Teplice 1:0 with the only goal of the game coming in 5th minute through Daniel
Kolář. Plzeň have
now won their last seven matches in a row and gone five games without conceding
a goal.
Sparta were also in fine form over the weekend as they beat thrid place Boleslav 2:0, thanks to goals from Josef Šural and Costa. Sparta have now won 20 of their last 21 home matches.
Baník ended their run of eight defeats in a row as they emerged 3:0 victors over their rivals Zlín. Due to injuries in the team, Ostrava fielded a side with an average age of 21, giving a chance to 18-year old keeper Chmiel and 20-year old defender Mešaninov. The match was decided with goals from Holzer, Mondek and Lásik.
Liberec ran out 3:2 winners in their match against Jablonec as Marek Bakoš grabbed a hattrick. The result sees Slovan move to fourth in the table, two points ahead of Slavia, who could only manage a goalless draw in their match with Jihlava.
Bohemains took a valuable three points in the small Prague derby against Dukla as they emerged 1:0 winners. The only goal of the game came in 68th minute from Krch to extend their run of seven matches without defeat. Olomouc are still struggling in the league as they went down 2:0 to Brno.
Příbram hit the woodwork three times in their match against Slovácko and eventually lost the match 1:0 to a goal in 90th minute from Došek.
