SUMMARY: After loss to Liberec, Sparta yield top position to Plzeň

In the 14th round of the SYNOT liga, Sparta lost 1:0 to Liberec while Plzeň beat Boleslav by the same score to knock the Letna side off the top of the table. The result leaves Sparta trailing the champions by three points.

Liberec fielded a weakened side with several players missing through injury. Despite this, Liberec were the more attacking side and were rewarded in 64th minute when a volley from Delarge found the back of the net.  Plzeň capitalised on Sparta’s loss as they beat Boleslav 1:0, thanks to a goal from Ďuriš to give him his eleventh goal of the season. Boleslav now trail the leaders by five points and are two points adrift of Sparta.

Towards the bottom of the table, Bohemians beat Ostrava 3:1, thanks to two goals from striker Schick, to continue their utterly miserable season. Jihlava notched up a surprising 2:0 win over Brno, and are now level with Bohemains and Olomouc, who walked away with a draw against Dukla. 

In other matches, Teplice drew 2:2 with Jablonec, Zlín emerged 2:1 victors over Příbam, and Slavia beat Slovácko 2:0.
